December All-Star of the month is a Brent Koch from Oklahoma.
Here is what he said:
Hey Jeff,
Here is my info. this was my first month I don’t even have the all star trading plan yet but I’m pumped and committed to making my paper trades. I really looked at breaking of resistance and followup support, the use of volume was really helpful. You will see that most of my trades were Bullish. I did have to back out of one trade in Apple so the video on that was great. It would have still worked out but it just wasn’t worth being nervous about so I got out with $100.
My wife had no interest currently in investing and claims for it to be over her head (it’s not true she’s a lot smarter than me,) when I showed her the results and then showed her a little about compounding interest she suddenly became interested. She is now asking me if I’ve looked up different companies.
As for me I’m a 34 and a Oklahoma State graduate who has been successful as a businessman both in the corporate world and now with my own insurance agency and while I’ve done well. I’ve always dreamed of being a trader and in college even took a portfolio management course thinking that I would love to be on a trading floor. This was all prior to online trading really being possible so everything since is all new with a lot of better options than being on a trading floor. Even though I had knowledge of how to by and sell stocks, I mostly studied value investing buying and holding and I could never feel comfortable about actually putting money out there especially on what I perceived a more risky approach like options. In fact I’ve never traded options or even stocks other than my mutual funds. I’m hoping this is the start of a new future.
I live in Oklahoma and am an insurance agent and have been for 5 years. I’ve owned some businesses in the past but employees, overhead, etc. just burned me out. So you can see to me this is the perfect business, I’m really looking to go all in here. I think that this is going to give me the freedom with my time and finances to enjoy some of my hobbies like flying, hiking, and the occasional road trip again!
