All Star of the Month

An exuberant, “It Really Works!” is what this months All Star of the Month award winner said of the strategy that has changed his life.

If you are new to my newsletter, and aren’t familiar with the All Star of the Month competition, here is a brief summary:

Every month, traders in the Membership site (from around the world) compete for the coveted All Star of the Month award by sending in their trades and profit/loss percentages.

The most profitable trader wins.

This month, as usual, the competition was intense.

I would like to take a moment and congratulate Al Coven for his accomplishments this month, and for winning the All Star of the Month award for October!

Here is what he had to say in his own words:

IT REALLY WORKS!

I now have a trading plan. I place my credit spread trades. I log in the prices of my positions in my notebook each night. Then I watch them expire worthless! (Occasionally I use a debit spread or rollover to manage a position)

I have been investing in stocks and mutual funds for 25 years. My system was buy, hold, sell. Seems like I always sold at the wrong time. My stocks and mutual funds usually lost value, and I could not consistently make money with the buy and hold system. Trying to time the market did not work for me, either. I tried using brokers, bankers, and self directed, but could not even beat the market on a regular basis.

This past March I attended a seminar on trading Credit Spreads. I really thought it made sense and I opened my paper trading account. After a few weeks of paper trading, I had gained enough confidence to open a real account and start placing some trades. I read my manuals over and over again, and wanted to learn more about this Credit Spread stuff. I searched for information on line, and found JeffreyZiegler.com.

This site was exactly what I was looking for, and I joined immediately. The coaching videos showed how to place the trades, and the thoughts behind the trades. It was like having my own personal instructor, and it was all done on the same trading platform that I was using. In the coaching videos, Jeff explains the probabilities of success, the market volatility and the effect it has on the trades, when or when not to trade. (ie: earnings announcements, trade what you see, etc.)

The system worked. I watched the VIX, and sold spreads for higher credits. I gained more confidence, and in June, I moved my retirement money into a retirement trading account. My goal is to continue to follow my trading plan, always looking for opportunities to sell vertical spreads, and to consistently bring in credits to my accounts each month.

Jeff, Thank you for your weekly coaching videos. They are educational, helpful, and a big part of my trading plan. I also want to thank you for selecting me as the All Star Trader of the Month.

Al Coven,

JAZ: First of all, Al, Congratulations on becoming this month’s All Star of the Month. It has been  an exciting journey for you, and I am thrilled to have been apart of it.

Perseverance is the Hallmark of an All Star in any field. After 25 years of being beat down by the Market, you are now putting probabilities in your favor to consistently profit. I am so glad to see your hard work and perseverance pay off so significantly!

You now have such confidence to manage your own retirement account and set the course for your own financial future. That is power!

Now that you have a simple, and straightforward plan to follow, you can get busy enjoying your life and not worrying about the Market!

Congratulations once again!

All the best,

Jeff
